Bobby is a firm believer in order to provide quality, in depth, services to a diverse clientele a professional must have a diverse background in many industries and business segments. He has experience in agriculture, food service, automotive, marine, real estate, accounting, finance, taxation, financial services, retail and wholesale, in both for-profit and not-for-profit entities.

He was born in Texas, raised and attended grades K-12 in Oak Ridge, Tn. So, yes, you can call him a hometown boy! He spent many days working on his parent’s horse farm. While attending high school he cleaned food tables, worked at a full service automobile station, was a physical fitness trainer and taught racquetball to adult beginners.

Immediately following high school he worked for a national restaurant chain and became the restaurant chain’s operations trainer for all store managers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth region.  Texas is where he started in the auto parts retail industry. Shortly thereafter this company transferred him to Nashville to assist with converting new local stores to the national company’s way of doing business.  All of this by the ripe age of 23!

In 1986 he enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University, moved to a lower position with the auto parts chain, and graduated in 1989 with a B.B.A. degree in accounting.  While attending college he also worked for a tax preparation chain and started working at Robert T. Green C.P.A. P.C. in June, 1989.

He received his Public Accountant certificate in 1993 and his Certified Public Account certificate in 1994.  In October, 1994 he purchased Robert T. Green C.P.A. P.C. from his father who started the business in June, 1974.  He received his financial services licenses in 1999.  This has allowed Robert T. Green C.P.A. to offer truly integrated accounting and financial services to its clients.

Bobby has been the managing partner in a residential real estate development.  In 1997 he served as the Knoxville Chapter President and, in 2001, the State President of the Tennessee Association of Accountants. He has served on the TSCPA’s federal and state tax liaison committee and the National Society of Accountants member insurance committee. He is a QuickBooks Software professional user and advisor and has been one since its first release in May, 1997. He was a member of the board of directors and a corporate officer for the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge from 1992 to 2012. The Boys & Girls Club awarded him the President’s award in 1999, 2008 and 2010. He is an active member with the Muscle Cars Ministries. He has coached youth football, soccer, baseball and taught many how to water ski and wakeboard.

He is proud to declare his faith as a Christian and has been known to buy and sell a boat or car a “few” times. He has favorite saying:  “It just takes faith”.

The two most influential people in his life have been his father and father-in-law.

He believes his best accomplishments in life are his marriage to Lisa, whom he met in high school, and their children, Austin and Emily.
